La topographie du Chaos
Inkjet Print on paper, drop pins.

When I was researching Utopic territories, I started to find empty spaces on Google-Earth. I ended up downloading satellite images from different geological survey agencies’ database. I realised that human-beings are everywhere, and that there is no place to hide. I started to mix up different territories to make up imaginary landscapes.

I then started to mix-up different territories in war ; Syria, Iraq, Egypt. And then add hidden militay bases that were online for few hours on NASA to the map. I also added natural disasters , volcanoes, earthquake places... After printing them, I fold them to re-make the topography of each map. they are in a way invented Utopia, shaped out from papers.

This work is about dreaming, and as Thomas more did before, I dream of a place on earth that I could shape into an ideal world, my own Utopia.
